Trail Scouts Eric Seaborg and Ellen Dudley Sportsman and Sportswoman for Mark Warner

George,

My husband, Eric Seaborg, and I were on the orginal team recruited by Backpacker magazine to scout a route linking hiking trails and dirt roads, rail-trails and bike-trails to form a continuous path from coast to coast. For 14 months (1990-1991) we and a third team member hiked and biked across 13 states and 4860 miles exploring and testing the route for what is now the country's first Atlantic-to-Pacific trail--the American Discovery Trail. As hikers, we know that clean air and clean water are crucial -- not only to enjoying the outdoors but to the health of our trees, streams, and people.

The Allen & Gilmore regime actually wasted taxpayer money suing to weaken the Clean Air Act -- a move that would destroy our main hope of reducing the massive air pollution rolling over the Blue Ridge from Ohio Valley power plants. And the Gilmore & Earley regime proposes allowing higher pollution levels in our streams. We can't afford four more years of this sort of environmental NONstewardship! Mark Warner understands that a clean environment is essential to our health, our quality of life, and our long-term economic prosperity.

P.S. This photo was taken 11 years ago in Utah, so for truth in advertising I have to admit the taller person is now a bit grayer and the shorter one is a bit flabbier!
