George

I've heard these rumors that Creigh Deeds has gotten the inside track on the nomination.

It's too bad that it's all so believable. It certainly makes the hand-wringing and soul-searching exercises party officials periodically enact about low participation, poor voter turnouts etc quite offensive.

Next time I hear from one of them, I feel inclined to say elect him yourself, Big Daddy, you know best.

Could you post information on how to contact state party officials to register a protest?

Just out of curiosity, George, would you poll your list as to who has ever heard of Creigh Deeds before last week?

Mary MacNeil (electronic mail, November 5, 2001).

Editor's Note: The natural place to send a note of protest might seem like Alan Moore at Alan@vademocrats.org

However, he says, "Ms. Broz is not working for the Democratic Party at this time. She has taken an official leave of absence [to work with Creigh Deeds]. Obviously, what she does with her own time or who she works for is her business.

As to any lists, etc, The Democratic Party of Virginia doesn't control any candidate's/ incumbent's lists or data. All the information we have is available to any Democrat running for any office."

And, Tom Vandever has recently stated no "Couric" lists (donor or mailing) are being used, adding that the only lists being used by the Deeds campaign are readily available to all the candidates.

See Tom Vandever's comments on having an inside track.
