Dear George,

I would be very interested in exploring the possibilities [for running as a candidate for the 25th District], especially as I believe a State Senator can make a big difference in the quality of life issues that matter to many of us -- healthy cities, viable rural communities, open land, sustainable growth and transportation that is not a prescription for further grid lock.

The rub is that Uncle Sam may yet want me to help chase down Osama bin Laden. I am awaiting that decision at this moment.

If I don't get called up by the end of this coming week and support continues to come my way, I will make a serious run for the Senate nomination.
