I personally find this kind of generic statement about local government employees very offensive. Orange County has many wonderful employees, most of whom work at salaries significantly below the labor market.

Most are honest, hardworking, idealists who are willing to make financial sacrifices in order to help ensure that our government is being operated by good people. I don't think that Orange County is the exception in our region.
