George, I am disappointed that I was not featured in your recent portrayal of men's political fashion. I also understand that Messrs. Lynch, Cox, and Toscano feel equally slighted. I have not yet talked to Rooker, Martin, Bowerman, Perkins, Van Yahres, or Deeds. I will remind you that I received recent coverage in The HooK for my stylish yellow tie. Additionally, I will let you know that my grandmother, who raised me, and despite her age (100) is very concerned about my attire to the point that she calls her advise to me weekly. Her recent analysis is that red power ties are out and only for pretenders and are a disguise. In King George County yellow ties are "in" for the political male.
Hence my recent change to mirror the analysis of someone that is much wiser in the wiley ways of political costume and theatre. Please do give the rest of us males due consideration in your investigative portrayal. How about a runway competition? Blake Caravati (electronic mail, March 2, 2002)
Editor's Note: I like Blake's idea about a runway competition for local male politicians. Perhaps it could be set up as some kind of benefit. I will look into it. In the meantime, what do you think about the knots and the design features in the ties above and, for that matter, the hair styles? Please send your thoughts about men's political fashion to george@loper.org
where the most representative comments will be placed on my web site with
