I feel that is very important to remember our slavery heritage. Like the Holocaust it should never be forgotten. We should remember that in the best of us there is evil and in the worst of us there is some good. Jefferson should be studied and admired for the Declaration of Independence and "all men are created equal" and be pillored for being such a hypocrite as to own slaves. I have always liked Lee, Jackson, King day because it celebrates our cultural diversity.
