Letter from Neal Boortz

George,

I was doing an internet search and came upon your site ... and the article from Bob Gibson of The Daily Progress (whatever that is) on this page ... http://www.loper.org/~george/trends/2001/Oct/36.html

Not that you care, but I NEVER said that the US should target Muslim's holy sites.

Funny ... I don't recall you or Bob Gibson calling me to verify these remarks before this was printed.

Par for the course.

Oh .. and the use of the term "hate speech." How trite. I'm sure you can do better. Remember --- the working definition of the term "hate speech" is "any utterance in opposition to leftist dogma."

Neal Boortz (electronic mail, January 20, 2002).

Letter from Bob Gibson

George,

I'm certain that other people also heard Mr. Boortz make the remark about targeting mosques.

I am not surprised that he does not remember the remark he tossed off in response to a listener because he may have been either "joking" or venting at the time.

I am a bit surprised that he chooses a categorical denial. Perhaps he chooses to remember only the smart things he says on the air. Unfortunately, he brags about never making transcripts of his show.

Bob Gibson (electronic mail, January 20, 2002).
