George, There is probably less of a generation gap with regard to the rhetoric of the current administration than one might think. I believe there is more of a gap between those who care about quality of life for everyone, regardless of social station, life condition and geography. Some of us believe we are all responsible for seeing that everyone has a chance to succeed while others are primarily concerned with 'getting mine' and to hell with 'those people'. This war will be fought by our children, our neighbors our countrymen but the children of those who have set this juggernaut in motion and are determined to fight this war, with or without real reason, will not go. They are not in the military, and like the current occupant of the White House, can find ways to avoid going to Iraq. From what I saw on TV about the rally at UVA, there were people of all ages in attendance. It's not an age thing, it's a lover of freedom thing. Martha Wood (electronic mail, November 21, 2002)
