I've never read Barbara Ehrenreich's work, but I must tell you that the uproar over the book is unfounded. I bet most of the people denouncing the book have never even read the thing.

It's ridiculous what the ultra-conservatives who've got nothing better to do with their time than bitch are doing these days. Their egotistical diatraibe is reminiscent of the Catholic Church denouncing Galileo a heretic, the bogus Salem Witch Trials and the mass burning of Beatles records after John Lennon's innocent statement that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ. It just goes to show that people like that will always exist - especially in America for some reason.

And one wonders why the rest of the world calls America "puritan."
