George, Eighty years or so ago, Henry Ford upped the pay of his workers 'so that they can afford to buy one of the cars they're making.' I believe I've detected a comparable, inverse strategy from Wal-Mart -- to pay so poorly that their vast group of employees can only afford to shop at Wal-Mart.
