But is it what we want? The meeting will focus on Albemarle Countys and Charlottesvilles existing (though implicit) caps on growth: zoning regulations that limit growth at build-out. Thursday, December 2: The Charlottesville School Board will hear community responses to the curriculum management audit at 7 p.m. in Thursdays monthly board meeting at the Charlottesville High School Media Center." Friday, December 3: The Curry School will present a lecture by William Pelham, internationally recognized scholar in ADHD, on Friday Dec 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ruffner Hall Auditorium. The title of the lecture is "Comprehensive, Evidence-Based Treatment for ADHD: Just Say 'Yes' to Drugs". Pelham argues that "the first line of treatment for ADHD should always be parent, teacher, and child training, with medication used only as an adjunctive intervention." Friday, December 3: At 11 a.m. at the Miller Center, Howard Hart, former officer in the CIA's Directorate of Operations will present a frank and critical exploration of the CIA's ability to collect human intelligence and succesfully mount espionage operations. Friday, December 3: Deadline for submission of applications to serve on the Albemarle Housing Committee, Albemarle Architectural Review Board, Albemarle Public Recreational Facilities, Public Defenders Office Citizen Advisory Committee. Tuesday, December 7: The every-two-years reorganization meeting of the Charlottesville Democratic Party will take place on Tuesday, December 7, at 7:00 PM in the Buford Middle School cafeteria. This is the meeting at which Charlottesville Democrats elect our precinct and City Committees, who will then at a meeting in January choose their officers for the next two years. Please come to this meeting -- with all of the work that we need to do before November, 2005, it is essential that we choose City Committee members who will do what needs to be done. He has served as a US diplomat, field anthropologist, four time Fulbright scholar, National Geographic film maker, refugee relief worker, scholarship director, author, and consultant to both government and nongovernment organizations. He has been a guest on the MacNeil-Lehrer News Hour, CNN International, and other foreign news programs. In 2005, he will serve as the Center Director and Senior Fellow at the American Institute of Afghan Studies in Kabul. Topic: Exploring the No Growth Option with Chris Williamson, AICP, author of an article by the same title published in the November 2004 issue of the American Planning Associations Planning magazine. Last month ASAP distributed the article by e-mail. Williamson is a planner with the City of Oxnard, CA. He has worked as a planner for several other communities, taught at the University of Southern California, and conducted research on land use, housing, and growth management policies. down the new medical and education center on Hydraulic Road (see recent
article in The Daily Progress). These critical services are also being threatened
throughout the state of Virginia and we need you to take action again when
the General Assembly session starts. The Virginia Pro-Choice Coalition Pro-Choice
Lobby Day is on Thursday, February 3rd and we need you and every pro-choice

Ethics and Public Responsibility, and has recently retired to this area.
He served on the 1994 Task Force on Health Care Reform, and more recently
on the Bush Administration's Presidential Council on Bioethics. His most
recent book, is the 2001 study of ethics in eight professions, entitled
The Beleaguered Rulers: The Public Obligation of the Professional.
