Hi George.

Nice piece about the Progress.

One comment... I was amused at Wayne Mogielnicki's forecast about the duration of my tenure at C-Ville. He seems to imply that the Progress' philosophy of treating writers like expendable migrant workers is shared by all local media.

Like most media outlets, the C-Ville has certainly had its share of turnover. But since the editorial department came under new management, the company has taken very good care of its STAFF writers. When I do leave the company, it won't be with a disgruntled spirit. I have stayed here for four years because the company has made it worth my while to do so -- not, as Mogielnicki's comment might imply, because I'm tolerating the low wages and editorial indifference that Progress writers seem to suffer under.

When I leave, it will be because C-Ville has provided me with the resources and guidance I need to grow in my craft.
