George,

In all of my travels around Europe, it seems that the only European culture I've encountered which has a major problem with public breastfeeding (and nudity in general) is the Anglo-Saxon culture (and being a former British colony, Americans share this cultural aspect as well by default). It's a bit of an anomaly, really, when you think about it. The English seem to be by far the most prudish of Europeans--and my British friends won't readily contest this.

I'm interested to know why Anglo-Saxon culture is so prudish. Are there any historical reasons for this?
