Thursday, May 6: Interfaith Gay/Straight Alliance meets at 7 pm in the Conference Room of the Legal Aid Society on Preston Avenue in Charlottesville. This is a recently formed group of people from a variety of faith communities in the Charlottesville area that has assembled to give voice and action to civil rights for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Queer people. Why: To raise the visibility of the local Kerry for President campaign, and to show Karl Rove, in Lynchburg that day for his LU Commencement speech, that even in Lynchburg, Va., theres an active and viable Kerry for President campaign! Friday, May 14: Governor Warner will be the keynote speaker at the grand opening of the Civil Rights in Education Heritage Trail. The trail is a 41-stop, 300-mile driving/biking tour through 13 Southside counties. The trail tells the story of the sacrifices and grass roots efforts made by Native Americans, African Americans, women, the economically disadvantaged, the developmentally delayed and others dedicated to ensuring that all people have access to public education. the Libertarian Party's presidential nomination
yesterday. Badnarik, 49, of Austin, defeated former Hollywood movie producer
Aaron Ruso on the convention's third ballot, after former radio host Gary
Nolan, who was eliminated on the second ballot, endorsed Badnarik, The Associated
