Dear George,

I find it curious that the Daily Progress would print a declaration without attribution. They reject letters to the editor which do not have a signature so it would seem their editorial policy is inconsistently applied to certain editorial statements.

Second, if the person(s) who placed the editorial/Ad are so ashamed of their opinion as to refuse to give their identity, the effect of the editorial/ad is diminished as simply a rant whose reason for existing is in question.

While the Daily Progress has an obligation to guard 'free expression' and print something many of us find distasteful and selectively inflammatory, one should be able to expect them to follow their own editorial policy and print the speaker's name.
