The total recreational visits for FY 2004 were 1,271,959 - which works out to 8,957,583 visitor hours. This is up from 1,174,911 total recreational visits in 2003 but down from from 1,511,020 in 2002 (Facts, National Park Service, Shenandoah, January 17, 2005).
