Topic: Listening to the people, not the pundits: What really happened on November 2nd? Retired political science professor David RePass will present an analysis of the 2004 presidential election based on national survey data gathered by the University of Michigan. This survey is of unusually high quality involving in-depth (open-ended) questions administered in respondents homes by skilled interviewers. Professor RePass has been analyzing these Michigan surveys for several decades and has developed methods of analysis that allow you to see precisely what factors affected the election results. Come to the breakfast and find out which issues and what it was about the candidates that produced the result on November 2nd. In the meantime, Professor RePass says that Democrats can stop flagellating themselves about moral values; moral issues were not much of a factor in the election.
