    Former and current students, University professors and others remain at Madison Hall to support students meeting with President Casteen, Leonard Sandridge, and Pat Lampkin. The administration gives permission for food to enter the premises via police officers.

    Students are allowed to remain inside Madison Hall and are given until 2 p.m. to generate counter-proposals to those of Casteen's.

    At 2 p.m. there was a rally where Congressional candidate for the Virginia 5th District Democratic nomination Al Weed spoke to a variety of supporters of a living wage.

    Al Weed is a long time supporter of living wage and some of his earlier thinking can be found at Al Weed Answers Living Wage Questionaire.

    The 17 students, believed to be in negotiation with the administration, were arrested around 7 p.m. and taken to jail on 1810 Avon Street Extended.
