George,

I think we definitely benefit from these two publications. The Hook is well done and has interesting features which appeal to a broad audience, especially thirty-somethings and older. The C'ville has a very different slant but is fun to read and I find it is a good way to keep up with the younger groups and what is alternative music and activities to me.(I'm in the 'older' category). Both certainly do a really good job of reporting what is happening in C'ville which is more than can be said for the newspaper I have to buy.

Editor's Note: Martha is responding to our request for comment following posting of "The Hook is Five Years Old." We asked, "how do you think it’s going? Do we benefit from having two alternative weeklies as well as all the other free printed matter around here? Do you read one or both? If one, which and why?"
