George,

The malady of the right wing still infects us like a deadly virus--Schilling appears to be just another of this fanatical breed of hypocrites, that, in my sense, would praise to high heaven if this same teacher praised war, god and country, regardless who it might offend! His record is consistent (and predictable) if nothing else.

Call it a "tempest in a teapot", if you will, but it has the effect of creating another storm among those who look for an issue, any issue, however harmless and insignificant to express harm to their sensitivities and look to extract their due. Poisoning the environment with meaness and vitriol in the process .

Often, it becomes violent, when the disturbed fanatics are urged on by those who only express an irresponsible overreaction to the issues they consider offensive.

In the world of the extreme right wing there can be no dissenting viewpoints, "if you aren't with them, you're against them".

For example, I have yet to hear an outcry among any of the Right to many of their brethern's demand for government sponsored school or public prayer or posting the Ten Commandments in virtually any public building. though, it is clearly an unlawful violation of our Constitution's First Amendment. I, for one, am offended!

Posting a bumper sticker reading, "We belong to the earth" becomes, in Schilling's convoluted world, a violation of the Christian God.

But, he has a right to express his views, though he would, like many of his right wing "fellow travelers" gladly deny others this same right, if they might disagree with his bias. That is, if it was possible.

But, I might add, while on the subject of Christianity, Jesus cited hypocrisy as the greatest sin!

Rush Limbaugh condemns Sonia Sotomayor as being "racist", yet Limbaugh heaps racist remarks regularly on his favorite target, , African-Americans, to the delight of his slavish "dittoheads".

Bill O'Reilly uses inflammatory hate speech against Dr Tiller in Kansas, and after a crazed man guns down the doctor in church, O'Reilly and his cohorts condemn the action with a lot of "buts" and "howevers."

The Ann Coulters, Sean Hannitys, Laura Ingrahams, and many of their ilk are not nice people to have around in a society that desperately needs a sense of fairness and civility in a dialogue of diverse opinions. Attack dog smears and lies only create more hate and "dark side" reactions and add nothing positive to the discourse.

Paraphrasing, Eugene Robinson's comment in a recent op-ed piece, most of the right wing punditocracy only want to be paid--guys like Schilling and Gingrich want to be heard!
