George, I sent the following communication to Governor Kaine in response to his support for the "Choose Life" license plate: Governor Kaine, your decision regarding the "Choose Life" license plate is most disappointing, especially because you fail to mention two things in your statement. First, the funds raised by the "Choose Life" license plate will be distributed to so-called crisis pregnancy centers that provide biased counseling to persons who seek out their services as well as misleading information in an effort to influence their decision-making process. Second, you have shown no recognition of the likelihood that the General Assembly of Virginia, in its current make-up, may very well refuse to enact legislation on behalf of a pro-choice license plate, a decision that might well be unconstitutional according to your statement but one that nevertheless would prevent such a message license plate from being created. Your decision to permit the creation of a "Choose Life" license plate has the potential to create serious harm for thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of young and vulnerable women faced with a decision for which they may not be prepared. You have supported biased counseling and misinformation over non-judgmental and factual information. Would you support such actions by the Virginia Department of Health?
