George, In a planet where resources (oil, iron ore, bauxite, water, arable land, etc.) are finite, and UN demographers predict 9.2 billion humans on earth by 2050 (versus 6.3 billion today), something has got to give. Capitalism's demand for constant growth (new larger markets & greater consumerism) sooner or later will bring a global crisis. It seems that to protect the status quo corporate interests will grow closer to government and the military. In past history, that was how dictatorships were built.
