Saturday, December 17: 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Monthly Democratic Breakfast at the Downtown Library, 3rd Floor. Bagels, coffee & juice. The topic will be Public Housing in Charlottesville - Past, Present and Future. The speakers will be Randy Bickers, Executive Director, Charlottesville Redevelopment & Housing Authority [CRHA] and Hosea Mitchell, Board Chair, CRHA

Saturday, December 17: 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Christmas Concert of the Oratorio Society of Virginia. At the Paramount Theater. Canadian Brass arrangements of some of the usual Christmas carols (including the Canadian Brass arrangement of Twelve Days of Christmas, which is a lot of fun). The one big classical work is John Rutter's "Gloria," along with Poulenc's beautiful "O Magnum Mysterium" amid the better-known carols.

Tickets are available at the Oratorio Society website www.oratoriosociety.org or at the Paramount box office or the New Dominion Book Shop on the Downtown Mall. Tickets are $57 for the box seats, and $27 and $17 for the other reserved seats.
